"Five Rules For Life" - compilation post
Every 40 submissions or so, I do a compilation post based on what I think are some of the most compelling, unique, and thought-provoking rules across all submissions. This is the second installment.
It is not an easy exercise, as every rule in every submission carries great value. But these stand out for reasons I cannot fully explain.
Enjoy!

Neighbors save woman in daring rescue from apartment fire
Chris Williams is a friend of mine - good job Chris!
And he contributed to “Five Rules For Life”!
For about 10 terrifying minutes early Wednesday, 58-year-old grandmother Patricia Graham was trapped inside her second-floor Waco apartment as flames quickly spread through the building. Witnesses said Graham beat her fists against a window and screamed for help, unable to pry open a safety lock to flee the smoke-filled apartment.
But what happened next has drawn the praise of residents and officials. A group of neighbors teamed up to rescue Graham, at least one risking his life to save a woman he really didn’t know.

Another mention!
Jon Andre’s new blog is a huge hit and it’s “premise is simple - people from all walks share what they believe are the most important rules to follow for a happy, successful, and fulfilling life. At one time or another we have all said “if I only knew then what I know now…”; now is your chance to share. What are your “Five Rules For Life”?”

Thanks!

Five Rules for Life
“Don’t judge your insides by other people’s outsides” from Michael Pelham:
In our appearance-based and “keep up with the Jones” society, this is such a simple expression of what we should do. Just because you think your neighbor has it all - or your friend has everything and appears perfect - just remember you really have no idea what is going on in their world or inside of them. Things are rarely what they seem on the surface, so to compare your inner-most self to some external reflection of something you see is only going to lead to frustration and disappointment.
People submit their 5 rules for life, and they’re posted on this blog. Some are a little clichéd, but there are quite a few thought-provoking ones. Well worth reading.
